DigiXmas – Semi Automated Directory Submitter

PROGRAMS

Still one of the most common and popular ways to build links is to submit your web site to directories. It totally makes sense, just as you would announce your phone to the yellow pages for a new company. Any new site needs to start his link building by submitting to directories.

Best way to do this is by manually submitting your web site to these directories, and variations of the information you use for it. That always count when you’re link building: diversify!

You need to be aware that not all directories have the same value; there are not that much really good free general directories out there. About 300 or so, that’s all. Then there are a few hundred more that are still good enough to take the time and effort to submit your web site to each of those directories. But even then there are still a few thousand directories out there. Most of them don’t carry much value, in fact most have no value what so ever.

All (semi-)automated programs struggle with the same problem; they can’t submit to the very best directories, as those directories have their own unique scripts and/or because they simply have a few little problems in place to prevent automated submissions plain simple. They can submit to a good part of the average directories, but most of the submission you would do with an automated program are in fact into very low quality directories. Many of the directories these programs submit to don’t even give a direct link.

Therefore you really need to order manual directory submission from a professional service FIRST. Only after that is done, you could use a semi-automated submitter to find even more. Despite the many disadvantages of the program. It’s very fast, it’s very, very, very fast, which makes up for the short comings.

Did you do a lot of work on your site last year? You have good rankings and traffic, but now they’re slipping away again? You added a significant amount of new pages to your site and Google doesn’t index all of them fast enough? Well, to do a whole bunch of semi-automated directory submission will help! It’s just amazing that you can actually do 500 semi-automated directory submission in just a couple of hours.

Still, don’t be mistaken; manual directory submission gives you more and better links!

Now, from all the different automated programs DixiXmas is the only one that does at least most of the checking as it should be done to keep the list of the directories clean; to make sure that the directories you submit to have at least some of the minimum requirements. This while most other tools just put any directory they can find in the list and so most of them are in fact totally worthless. if you use any of those programs you get a list of 2.000-3.000 directories. That might look very impressive, but if you actually submit to all of those. Which is automated or not, still a whole lot of work. You would be so luck if 500-700 of those directories give you a direct link, and that while at least half of them have no PR and no Pages indexed.

DigiXmas maintains their list rather well. We do some checks on it from time to time and we keep finding directories with redirects, nofollows and other seo-problems. But all together, most of their directories are seo-friendly. They try to keep up and offer at least 1.500 directories to submit to but hardly 500 of them have at least PR1.

A PR0 directory can also have its advantages. There are plenty of people there who already have directories or other sites and know very well how to build them up and give them link value. That takes time of course, so at first they allow free submissions to fill up the directory. Once their own link building efforts start to show they switch to being paid directories. So by submitting early enough you get in for free and over time the link grows in value.

On the other side; there are even more directories who get started by amateurs and after a few months they give up and that usually leads to the directory to disappear after some time.

So when we start to evaluate the value of submitting to pr0 directories we have to conclude that well performed, professional manual directory submissions are a bit expensive compared to semi-automated. This while the incredible speed of the the digiXmas submission program allows you to take your changes, even if  ’only’ 1 out of 5 submissions turn into a decent link, that are still 20-30 links per hour that you’re gaining.

How it works is rather straightforward: just go to the site and read the few instructions and guidelines they have, as that’s enough to know all about it and start submitting at an incredible speed.

They have a free version, of which the amount of directories you can use per site is limited. of course its enough to test it and to conclude that the $10 they ask for it is more than worth it. DigiXmas gives a great return on your money.
